A 1.5-acre tract of land in The Grove mixed-use development, east of the Mall of Louisiana, has been sold to an Arkansas company that plans to build an indoor trampoline park there.

The tract, behind Dick’s Sporting Goods, was purchased by Labat Grove LLC of Fort Smith, Arkansas, for $900,000 in a deal that was filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office Monday. The seller was WGN Phase I, a company headed by Grove owner-developer Richard Carmouche.

Ty Harvison, an agent with NAI/Latter & Blum, who represented the buyer, said the plan is to build an Area 51 trampoline park.

“It’s an attractive part of the property,” Harvison said. “There’s not a lot of site work they need to do, so they should be able to start construction rapidly.”

The Grove will eventually include 120 acres with everything from a hotel to assisted-living facilities. The first phase, The High Grove, a 192-apartment building, opened in October 2013.
