A company associated with RaceTrac Petroleum has purchased a tract of land at the intersection of Airline Highway and Tom Drive for $1 million.
Pepperwood Inc., an Atlanta company, bought the land at 8008 Airline in a deal that was filed Wednesday with the East Baton Rouge Parish Clerk of Court’s Office. Pepperwood has the same address as RaceTrac’s corporate offices and Bill Milam, RaceTrac’s president, is listed as the designated agent.
The sellers were Jane Clair and James H. Linch Jr., of Easley, South Carolina, and Hobe Sound Bible College of Hobe Sound, Florida. According to documents, the Linchs owned 52 percent of the land; the Bible college had a 48 percent stake.
Attempts to contact RaceTrac officials for comment were unsuccessful.
RaceTrac currently has 14 convenience stores across metro Baton Rouge and is currently building a location near the intersection of Florida Boulevard and North Foster Drive.
