Sherri LeBas, a former secretary of the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development, has been named president of national engineering firm G.E.C. Inc. in Baton Rouge.
LeBas joined G.E.C in May 2016 as vice president of business development.
She spent more than 24 years with the state's transportation department, which included an annual budget of $1.7 billion and over 4,200 employees when she was secretary, and spent six years at the state's Division of Administration.
Established in 1986, G.E.C has grown to become one of the top 500 engineering companies in the United States. The firm specializes in transportation, environmental, planning, coastal, infrastructure development and aviation and has a public and private-sector client base.
