The team of public officials assembled to implement the city-parish’s new land use and development plan will meet publicly at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Metro Council chambers downtown.
The FutureBR Implementation Team, known as the FIT team, will update the public and make four recommendations, though there are no details available on what those might be.
The meeting will be held on the third floor of the governmental building at 222 St. Louis St.
One of the four “strategies” will be presented by John Price, a member of the Planning Commission and the mayor’s representative on the team; Boo Thomas, of the Center for Planning Excellence; and Davis Rhorer, executive director of the Downtown Development District.
Three other strategies will be presented by Walter Monsour, president of the East Baton Rouge Redevelopment Authority, Planning Director Troy Bunch and Sam Sanders, head of the Mid-City Redevelopment Alliance.
FutureBR was an 18-month process of public input and analysis led by national consultant John Fregonese. The plan, which cost $1.9 million, was adopted by the city-parish in the late summer 2011. It includes 577 action items to be implemented by 21 lead agencies.
