Workshops have been scheduled this week for participation in a statewide small business growth plan competition with $60,000 in prizes that is being held by Capital One Bank in conjunction with the 41st Annual Bayou Classic football game in New Orleans.

Each category winner will receive a cash prize of $25,000. The businesses finishing in second place will each receive a cash prize of $5,000.

Finalists will make a presentation to judges on Nov. 28 in New Orleans and winners will be announced on the field during the nationally televised Nov. 29 Bayou Classic football game between Southern University and Grambling.

Participants must submit a letter of intent by Oct. 31 and a business growth plan by Nov. 7.
