Uncle Maddio’s Pizza Joint has signed a deal with a franchisee who plans to build 13 of the fast-casual restaurants across south Louisiana and the Memphis, Tennessee, metro area.
JUMP Restaurant Management, a subsidiary of Jubilee Restaurant Group, plans to build Uncle Maddio’s restaurants in Baton Rouge, New Orleans, Lafayette and metro Memphis.
Jubilee was founded by Seth Hargett, who worked as a chef in restaurants operated by the Brennan family and Emeril Lagasse and was the head chef at Grand Hotel Marriott Resort, Golf Club & Spa in Point Clear, Alabama. Jubilee owns 10 Five Guys Hamburgers and Fries locations, including the restaurants on North Carrollton Avenue in New Orleans.
Hargett said he researched the pizza market for more than two years before signing the franchise agreement with Uncle Maddio’s.
“We liked that the leadership team is made up of former operators who understand what it takes to run a successful restaurant. And as a former chef, I was blown away by the flavor, freshness, taste and variety of the menu,” he said. “There’s nothing like it on the market.”
Uncle Maddio’s, based out of Atlanta, has more than 30 restaurants and plans to open 60 more this year. Customers can create their own customized personal pizza, choosing between three different dough options, six different sauces and more than 45 meat, vegetable and cheese toppings.
