Baton Rouge-based Level Homes has closed on 112 acres in Prairieville, where the company plans to develop the Bell Savagne community.

The company paid $4.9 million for the property, said Jennifer Waguespack of Level Homes.

“It’s a fabulous site,” she said. The land is near Dutchtown High school and accessible to Interstate 10 and La. 73.

Level Homes’ plans call for 285 single-family home sites, with lots ranging in width from 55 to 80 feet. The development will include a clubhouse, swimming pool and walking path, as well as home designs and open floor plans.

Level Homes will build the houses, with prices ranging from $240,000 to more than $380,000. Bell Savagne will be built in three phases, with roughly the same number of homes in each.

Construction should start on the first homes in the next three to six months, Waguespack said.
