Shoppers at Matherne’s Market will be able to place grocery orders online and pick up their items at the downtown grocery store.

The new service is available from Shoppers can select items offered at the store and use customizable options, available online, for ordering things such as party platters for pick up at a time they choose at the store at 440 N. Third St. Each order will be selected by a Matherne’s personal shopper. There is no minimum purchase necessary

Tony Matherne said the new service will offer people in Baton Rouge’s central business district a chance to pick up items on the go. “It’s another great way of moving the shopping experience forward for our customers,” he said.

Roeshawn Peters, a spokeswoman for Associated Grocers, said more independent grocery stores in the market are set to soon announce their own online shopping services.
