An 8-acre site designated for a technology firm’s offices has been acquired for $3.6 million at the corner of Bluebonnet Boulevard and Highland Road.
@Highland LLC bought the land in a deal that was filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office Wednesday. The seller was the estate of Charles E. Metrailer Jr. and Metrailer HB LLC.
@Highland is managed by Mohit “Mo” Vij, the president and CEO of General Informatics, a Baton Rouge-based information technology services company.
The city-parish Planning Commission approved rezoning for the site earlier this year. It allows construction of a technology campus with an office building that will become the home for General Informatics. General Informatics is currently based out of the Louisiana Business and Technology Center at LSU.
George Kurz of Kurz & Hebert Commercial Real Estate, who lobbied for the zoning change, said plans are to have an office building that fits in with the mature live oak and cypress trees on the property.
“The goal is to create a development that is a green development that works with the trees and works with Bluebonnet Swamp,” Kurz said at a planning commission meeting in April.
