Acura of Baton Rouge is set to begin a $2 million expansion and renovation of its dealership at 13550 Airline Highway in about a month.

David Fabre, who co-owns the dealership with his brother, John, said the work is being done to keep up with Acura’s standards. “We moved in during January of 2005, so it’s been 10 years,” Fabre said. “It was time for a remodel.”

Fabre said the work will involve installing new flooring and new carpets inside the dealership, building a new entrance to the service area, adding two delivery stalls so buyers can familiarize themselves with their car’s controls, and building 1,300 square feet of office space.

The work on the showroom should be completed by Dec. 1 and the entire project should be completed by the end of the year, Fabre said. The dealership will remain open while the construction is going on.
