A Cleveland-based investment trust has purchased the Belleview Shopping Center in Plaquemine for nearly $4 million.

The Carnegie Companies, which owns more than 40 properties across the U.S., including shopping centers, apartment complexes, parking garages and warehouses, bought the center in a deal that closed earlier this month, said Carmen Austin, an associate broker with Saurage Rotenberg Commercial Real Estate. Austin represented the buyers and the seller, G.L.S.K. LLC, of Reno, Nevada.

Belleview Shopping Center is an 84,164-square-foot center at 58440 Belleview Drive. The property is fully occupied and anchored by Leblanc’s Food Store. Other tenants include Dollar General, Payless, AT&T Wireless and Radio Shack.

Carnegie Companies was interested in acquiring the shopping center because of all the activity going along the Mississippi River. “They thought it was a good investment,” Austin said.
