Lafayette-based PetroQuest Energy Inc. reported a fourth-quarter loss of $64.7 million, or 98 cents per share, compared with a profit of $1.7 million, or 2 cents a share, a year ago.

For the full year, PetroQuest lost $300 million, or $4.61 per share, compared with a profit of $26.1 million, or 39 cents per share, a year ago.

The three- and 12-month results included write-downs of $51.9 million and $266.6 million, respectively, because of lower oil and natural gas prices.
