Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center has purchased a building near the intersection of Burbank Drive and Gardere Lane that it plans to turn into a clinic.

The hospital paid $850,000 for the building at 9405 Burbank Drive, according to documents filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s Office Friday. The seller was Kemah Enterprises Inc., represented by Russell Barcelona.

The building is 6,540 square feet and sits on a 1.45-acre lot.

Kelly Zimmerman, a spokeswoman for Our Lady of the Lake, said the medical center is “still in the beginning planning stages” of what it will do with the land. Zimmerman said it will be an OLOL clinic, but not a Lake After Hours urgent care clinic.

“We have clinics all over the area in places where we identify that they would be helpful,” she said.
