Baton Rouge-based Amedisys Inc.’s chief compliance officer will take a year of paid leave beginning Aug. 1 under a new employment agreement.
A filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission contains no explanation for Jeffrey D. Jeter’s pending departure. Compliance officers help make sure a company follows regulatory requirements and the firm’s internal policies.
Under the new agreement, signed Monday, Jeter will “initially continue to be employed” as chief compliance officer for the home nursing firm. Jeter will continue working full-time for Amedisys until July 31. After that, Jeter will be on authorized paid leave for a year.
During that time, Jeter will not work for anyone else, neither himself nor others, without written permission from Amedisys’ chief human resources officer.
Under the agreement, beginning April 1, Jeter’s annual base salary is $390,625.
