Jamey Firnberg, president and chief executive officer of School Aids Inc., has been selected for the 2015 David McCurrach Distinguished Service Award by the Education Market Association.

The Baton Rouge company has retail outlets in Louisiana, Florida, Alabama, Mississippi and Texas.

The Public Relations Association of Louisiana-Baton Rouge has recognized Holly Houk Cullen as Member of the Year; Trey Williams as Practitioner of the Year; Venessa Lewis as Communicator of the Year; and Kristine Calongne Sanders as First Circle Award recipient.

Cullen is assistant vice chancellor of university relations at LSU. Williams is senior director of marketing for Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. Lewis has operated Lewis Graphic Design and created a small business as a public figure and professional mermaid character. Sanders is the assistant vice chancellor for communications at the LSU Office of Communications and University Relations.

Baton Rouge Clinic AMC has been recognized as one of 30 hypertension control champions nationally by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Million Hearts initiative.

The program recognizes public and private health care practices and systems for their success in helping patients control high blood pressure. These facilities achieved blood pressure control for at least 70 percent of their patients.

Jerome “Jerry” K. Greig, chief information officer at Fugro Chance Inc. responsible for information technology strategy, has been named a fellow by the National Association of Corporate Directors. Fellow is NACD’s highest level of credentialing of corporate directors for corporate governance and leadership in the boardroom.

NEW ORLEANS AREA

Carrie DeVries, senior account executive at Deveney in New Orleans, has earned the designation of accreditation in public relations.

This credential is based on knowledge, skills and abilities needed to develop and deliver strategic communication.

AROUND LOUISIANA

Greg Brenan, Tracye Browning, Kyle Cook and Leslie Mohr, all of the Hannis T. Bourgeois LLP accounting, tax and consulting services firm, have earned the designation of certified construction industry financial professional from the Institute of Certified Construction Industry Financial Professionals.

Brenan is a partner in the firm’s New Orleans office. Browning, Cook and Mohr are senior managers in the Baton Rouge office.
