Four finalists will make business pitches at the third annual Venture Challenge being held from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Friday in the Atchafalaya room at the LSU Student Union.
The finalists were selected by the LSU Student Incubator program the Louisiana Business & Technology Center from among 14 student teams that submitted business plans.
The finalists are ETCH Studio, a laser-cut jewelry business crafting unique geometric and edgy accessories for the social media generation; Environmental Robotics Institute, which develops environmental robotics systems and advanced sensor networks; Hospitality & Senior Care Training Institute, specializing in short-term hospitality, school nutrition and senior care training programs; and Foundations Family Fitness, a fitness center that uses psychological research to maximize adherence to programs for health and fitness.
The final round of the Venture Challenge will award a total of $25,000 to six student businesses, including the four Venture Challenge finalists and two businesses from the coinciding Startup Showcase.
