Budget carrier Spirit Airlines plans to offer nonstop seasonal service between New Orleans and Columbus, Ohio, beginning in March.
The Florida-based airline will add service three-days-a-week between Louis Armstrong International Airport and John Glenn Columbus International Airport. The seasonal service will run from March 22 through Nov. 7.
This week, Spirit will begin flying several daily nonstop trips from New Orleans, including to Boston; Newark, New Jersey; and Tampa, Florida. Four-day-a-week service to Minneapolis is also launching.
"As Spirit adds more new aircraft to its growing Fit Fleet, we are committed to offering new service to the places our customers want to fly, like New Orleans, Las Vegas and West Palm Beach," said Mark Kopczak, Spirit's vice president of network planning.
Tickets for the new routes can be purchased immediately.
