The final steel support beam was put into place Monday at Ochsner Medical Complex – High Grove, a $100 million medical office building along Interstate 10 between Bluebonnet Boulevard and Siegen Lane.
Officials with Ochsner signed a beam and workers with The Lemoine Co. put it into place during a topping off ceremony.
The medical complex, a five-story, 255,000-square-foot building, is set to open in stages beginning in early 2019. It is located in The Grove mixed-use development.
Along with the medical offices, the facility will have a 10-bed “micro hospital” and a surgical center with four operating rooms. The complex will have cardiovascular, thoracic surgery, neurosurgery, pediatric specialties, physical therapy and an infusion center. It will replace Ochsner’s existing south Baton Rouge medical clinic at 9001 Summa Ave. Ochsner announced last year it had outgrown its current facility and would move once the lease on the property expires in January 2019.
