Three Point Capital opens BR office

Three Point Capital, a California and New York-based specialty finance company, has opened a Baton Rouge office at Celtic Studios.

Three Point Capital is known as a tax credit lender for film, but has expanded its lending activities to different areas.

Amy Rodrigue has been named manager. Rodrigue is focused on the film and television business in the South and also involved in expanding Three Point’s non-film tax credit financing business in the region. Rodrigue had worked as a producer, production manager and coordinator on numerous Louisiana-based productions.

Three Point Capital has worked on over 100 film and television projects since the company was founded in 2009.

LABI holding annual workers’ comp event

The Louisiana Association of Business and Industry is holding its annual seminar on workers’ compensation issues Aug. 14 and 15 at the Crowne Plaza Executive Center, 4728 Constitution Ave., Baton Rouge.

The seminar features legal, medical and insurance experts discussing the latest developments in Louisiana’s workers’ compensation system and adapting to an evolving environment.

In addition to the annual reviews of administrative activities and court decisions, topics will include medical treatment guidelines, prescription drug formularies, mistakes to avoid when handling claims, Medicare set-aside procedures and how to gain “safe harbor” protection.

Attendees will be eligible for continuing legal and insurance education credits.

LSU center holding energy summit

The Center for Energy Studies will present its Energy Summit on Oct. 22 at the Energy, Coast & Environment Building at LSU.

This year’s Energy Summit will address issues related to Louisiana’s energy future. Topics include industrial energy usage and development; regional wholesale power markets; the Haynesville and Tuscaloosa Marine Shale plays; offshore Gulf of Mexico; and energy and the environment.
