A shopping center at the intersection of Jones Creek Road and Ferrell Avenue has been sold for $975,000 to a group of Hammond investors.
Datta Jones Creek LLC bought the property at 5601 Jones Creek from Amazon Properties LLC, according to documents filed Friday with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office. Datta Jones Creek is made up of the Patel family of Hammond.
Wade Greene, an agent with Maestri-Murrell Inc. of Baton Rouge, represented the buyers along with Ben Stalter, also with Maestri-Murrell. Kurz & Hebert Commercial Real Estate represented the sellers. Greene said the 9,300-square-foot shopping center was built in the mid-2000s. “There have been a lot of tenants in that shopping center since its inception,” he said. That, along with the fact the center is on a hard corner on Jones Creek, made it an attractive investment.
The center, which recently became fully occupied, is home to a variety of local service businesses, including a barber shop, a tanning salon, a bridal resale business and a nail salon.
