BATON ROUGE AREA

Sarah Cortell Vandersypen, associate director of development at the LSU Foundation, has received the Certified Fund Raising Executive designation from CFRE International.

Certification is based on tenure in the profession, education, fundraising achievements, a commitment to service to not-for-profit organizations and passing a written exam.

The Louisiana Orthopaedic Association presented Dr. W. Joseph Laughlin Jr. with its 2016 Clark Gunderson, M.D., Award.

The award is presented to an orthopaedic surgeon who is recognized as a leader within the orthopaedics profession. Laughlin practices at the Baton Rouge Orthopaedic Clinic and is a past president of the Louisiana Orthopaedic Association.

LAFAYETTE AREA

Greene’s Energy Group LLC, an oil service company providing testing, rentals and specialty services, has received the American Petroleum Institute Specification Q2 Certification for its flagship operations center in Lafayette.

API Q2 is an advanced industry certification standard for oil and gas service companies, based on a quality management system approach that focuses on supply chain controls, service design, competency, preventive maintenance, contingency planning and service quality plans, inspection activities, equipment repair and maintenance, well construction and servicing and abandonment.

Festival International de Louisiane presented its David Lofton Volunteer of the Year Award to Florida native Terrance Mahoney, who has given at least 20 years of service to Festival and volunteers for artist check-in. He travels every year from Florida to help support Festival International.

NEW ORLEANS AREA

Southern Services and Equipment Inc. in St. Bernard Parish has achieved certification as a Certified Building Fabricator and a Certified Advanced Steel Erector through the American Institute of Steel Construction.

The certification also included an endorsement as a Certified Bridge Component Manufacturer. Certification is based on passing audits.

Tulane Health System has been recognized as a Leader in LGBT Healthcare Equality by the Human Rights Campaign Foundation, the educational arm of the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization.

Tulane Health System earned top marks in meeting non-discrimination and training criteria that demonstrate its commitment to equitable, inclusive care for LGBT patients and their families.
