Wayne Stabiler Companies, which has been expanding on its restaurant concepts, has hired Baton Rouge restaurant veteran Tommy Mansur as part of its senior management team.

“We have a lot of things coming down the pipe over the next two years,” Stabiler said. Mansur has more than 35 years of experience in fine dining, including serving as general manager of Ruth’s Chris Steak House and Primo’s. He joins Kevin Kimball, who once served as a co-manager of Ruth’s Chris, on the Stabiler management team.

Stabiler owns the Little Village restaurants and Le Creole in Baton Rouge, along with Stabs Steak & Seafood in Central. He said Mansur is a “great person to have on the team.”

One of the things coming down the pipe is a new fine-dining restaurant at 7666 Jefferson Highway in the old Bank One building. Stabiler purchased the property in March for $1.45 million.

The theme is still being worked out, but Stabiler said “steaks will be involved.” Plans are to expand the building by enclosing the drive-through lanes.

Construction should start in the next two to three months. Stabiler said there should be some announcements about the restaurant in the next 45 days.

“We’re waiting on a couple of things with the architects,” he said. “We’re still in the early stages.”
