A Lafayette medical software company has purchased a building on Perkins Road for $1.65 million with plans to set up an office there.

DMDA of Baton Rouge LLC bought the office building at 6120 Perkins Road, according to documents filed Thursday with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office. The seller was Indigo Properties LLC of Baton Rouge.

DMDA is led by Donald Dupuis. According to the Louisiana Secretary of State’s office. it has the same Lafayette address as Acadiana Computer Systems Inc., a medical software billing company that Dupuis founded and heads as CEO.

Justin Langlois of SVN/Graham, Langlois & Legendre, who represented the building’s sellers, said ACS will take up part of the three-story building. The 13,590-square-foot building has several other tenants, including the local offices of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Peter Dumaine of SVN/Graham, Langlois and Legendre also represented the sellers, while Steve Legendre, with the same firm, represented ACS.

“The price was very attractive. The building is in excellent condition and the location on Perkins Road near Pennington Biomedical Center is superior,” Langlois said.

ACS, which was founded in 1969, provides software and consulting services to more than 3,000 health care providers, ranging from teaching hospitals to individual physician practices.
