Wal-Mart’s push to open more of its smaller Neighborhood Markets is continuing with stores in Kentwood and Clinton set to open by March.
A nearly 12,000-square-foot store will open at 920 Avenue G in Kentwood by March 4. The chain then plans to open a same-sized store at 9181 Plank Road in Clinton on April 1. Currently, the retail giant is hiring employees at both stores; about 30 workers each.
Wal-Mart is on track to open five Neighborhood Markets in Louisiana in January alone. Locally, a store in Prairieville opened earlier this month, while a store at the corner of La. Highway 16 and Vincent Avenue in Denham Springs will open Wednesday. The retail giant recently started building a Neighborhood Market at 11550 Coursey Blvd. in Baton Rouge, near the Sherwood Forest intersection.
