Paul A. Salles has been named president and chief executive officer of the Louisiana Hospital Association, effective Jan. 1.
Salles is executive vice president at the LHA, and president and CEO of the Metropolitan Hospital Council of New Orleans.
Over the past 10 years, Salles has directed the development of health care policy and reimbursement initiatives on behalf of hospitals in Louisiana and has directed and participated in various political activities at the state and national levels. In addition, Salles also serves as the managing partner of ShareCor LLC, a shared-services company jointly owned by the LHA and MHCNO.
“His understanding of our membership and deep health policy background gives him a strong foundation upon which to step into this leadership role,” said Stephen F. Wright, president and CEO of CHRISTUS Health of Louisiana and chairman of the LHA.
Salles replaces retiring LHA CEO John Matessino.
Salles has a bachelor’s degree in business administration in finance from Belhaven College and a master’s degree in business administration in finance from the University of New Orleans.
Established in 1926, the Louisiana Hospital Association is a non-profit organization representing hospitals and healthcare provider groups across the state.
