LHC Group, a publicly traded home nursing company based in Lafayette, has tapped longtime General Health System executive Dionne E. Viator to serve as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer beginning Feb. 1.

Viator has been with the General for 21 years and has served as executive vice president, chief strategy and network development officer, executive vice president of business development and chief financial officer.

General Health’s two campuses have 527 beds and $500 million in revenue.

Viator’s work with the General included identifying and negotiating joint ventures. She also helped develop the system’s accountable care strategy and infrastructure, positioning the company for payment reform.

LHC Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Keith G. Myers said Viator’s experience in joint ventures, managed-care contracting and risk-based payment models will be important to LHC during “this period of unprecedented opportunity.”

Jeffrey M. Kreger, LHC senior vice president of finance, has been serving as executive vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer since Jan. 1. He will resume his senior vice president of finance role effective Jan. 31.
