Red River Bank said it will build a branch at Acadian-Perkins Plaza in Baton Rouge, its sixth local location.

The new branch at the corner of Acadian Thruway and Perkins Road will open sometime in 2015, the bank said Monday. Karen Boss, a veteran local banker, will be the branch manager.

The branch opening had been delayed by a right-of-way dispute between Laurance Brooks, who owns the site where Red River Bank will build, and Jon Claitor, who owns Acadian-Perkins Plaza. The Louisiana State Supreme Court announced in April it would not hear the case, clearing the way for Red River Bank to buy the land.

Red River Bank, which is based in Alexandria, is the seventh-largest bank headquartered in the state, with $1.3 billion in assets and branches from Baton Rouge to Shreveport.
