A Kentucky company plans to build an apartment complex at the intersection of Airline Highway and Evangeline Street in north Baton Rouge.

The Port Royal Apartments will be a 192-unit development, with rents ranging between $800 for a two-bedroom, two-bath unit to $925 for a three-bedroom, two-bath apartment.

LDG Development of Louisville, Kentucky, is developing Port Royal. The company has developed five complexes in Louisiana: Mallard Crossing on Greenwell Springs Road, The Woodcrest on North Lobdell, The Muses I and The Muses II in New Orleans and Village du Loc in Lafayette.

The city parish Planning Commission is scheduled to vote on a site plan at its June 15 meeting. If all goes well, construction will start on Port Royal this fall and the development should open in spring 2017.
