The Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen at 10613 Burbank Drive has been sold to an Alexandria company for $1.35 million.
The Shelton Restaurant Group bought the fried chicken restaurant from Raceland QSR LLC, according to documents that were filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s Office Tuesday.
Mike Shelton, president of the Shelton Restaurant Group, said the Burbank Popeyes has been open for about a month or so. The acquisition brings the number of Popeyes Shelton owns up to 65, with 34 restaurants in metro Baton Rouge. Most of the company’s restaurants stretch from Lafayette to New Orleans.
“We’ve been in the Popeyes business for a long time,” Shelton said. “This location is right in the heartland of Popeyes, so it was a good opportunity.”
