Bill Bush, a financial adviser at Horizon Financial Group, has earned the "chartered retirement plans specialist" designation from the College for Financial Planning.

The designation is based on completed course study encompassing design, installation, maintenance and administration of retirement plans; passing an exam; and agreeing to adhere to standards of professional conduct and a disciplinary process.

The Greater Baton Rouge Society for Human Resource Management presented Jennifer R. Aldridge, vice president of human resources at Cox Communications in a three-state southeast region, with its 2017 Outstanding HR Professional of the Year Award and Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana with its 2017 Excellence in Diversity Award.

The HR professional award recognizes significant contributions to the profession and the local Baton Rouge community.

Blue Cross, which has a three-year strategic plan focused on corporate diversity initiatives, was selected based on its impact on diversity and inclusion within its organization and among communities.

The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International named Louisiana Office of Tourism Assistant Secretary Kyle Edmiston as one of the organization’s 2017 Top 25 Extraordinary Minds in Hospitality Sales, Marketing, Revenue Optimization.

The award recognizes leadership and performance at a high level in the industry. Edmiston oversees the Louisiana Office of Tourism’s promotion and marketing of Louisiana as a travel destination to domestic and international visitors.

Professional Women of St. Tammany presented its inaugural Women’s Choice Awards to Barbara Doyle, owner of Pelican Pages and Pelican Partners Marketing; Caitlin Hunter, community engagement specialist for Chevron's policy, government and public affairs group within the Gulf of Mexico business unit; Lacey Toledano, president and chief executive officer of the St. Tammany West Chamber of Commerce; Lisa Condrey Ward, an attorney and owner of Southern Hotel; and Catherine Wilbert, owner and operator of Big Sky Ranch and Retreat for rescue animals.

The award honors women in St. Tammany Parish who excel in their areas of expertise and contribute to the region’s development.
