The former Logan’s Roadhouse at the Mall of Louisiana will reopen in the spring as a LongHorn Steakhouse.

A LongHorn spokeswoman said Friday that work on renovating the building at 6571 Bluebonnet Blvd. will begin later this fall.

Last week, Rare Hospitality International, a subsidiary of Darden Restaurants, bought the 7,663-square-foot restaurant building for $10 “and other good and valuable considerations.” At the time, it was not disclosed with Darden-branded property would take over the building. Darden also operates Olive Garden and Cheddar’s Scratch Kitchen brands.

This will be the seventh Louisiana location for LongHorn Steakhouse, joining restaurants in Denham Springs, Covington, Slidell, Lafayette, Shreveport and Monroe.

The Logan’s at the Mall of Louisiana closed in summer 2016 when the chain filed for bankruptcy protection and closed 21 locations. Logan's still has a restaurant in Gonzales.
