A historic building at 1055 Laurel St. has been sold to a group that plans to put a law office there.

Elizabeth Sumrall sold the nearly 3,600-square-foot building for $315,000 to Laurel Gene Properties LLC, a group that includes Baton Rouge attorney Michael Fiser, according to documents filed Thursday with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s office. Hank Saurage and Jim Allen of Saurage Rotenberg Commercial Real Estate represented the seller, while James Fogle of Century 21 Investment Property represented the buyer.

Allen said the building was constructed in the 1920s for the First Christian Church of Baton Rouge.
