First-time claims for unemployment insurance in Louisiana for the week ending Sept. 28 decreased to 2,307 compared to 2,494 a week earlier.

The state’s labor department said the four-week moving average of initial claims decreased to 2,414 from the previous week’s average of 2,445.

Continued unemployment claims for the week ending Sept. 28 decreased to 23,551 compared to the previous week’s total of 23,869.

The four-week moving average of such claims decreased to 23,900 from the previous week’s average of 24,313.
