All items must include the name and telephone number of a contact person.
The deadline for Business Meetings is 5 p.m. Monday for the following Sunday. There is no deadline for People in Business, Business Briefs and Business Honors — all of which run on various days of the week.
Photographs for publication in People in Business and Business Honors should be color jpg attachments; minimum 300K; 170 dpi; and size 3 by 5. By submitting photos to The Advocate, you agree that they can be published in any of The Advocate’s print or digital publications.
PEOPLE IN BUSINESS: Promotions and hirings must be management positions. Information must include the individual’s most recent previous position or job and previous employer for new hires. Titles included are vice president and above. Items also can be submitted by professional organizations and nonprofits for new officers and directors, with a photo only of the chairman or president.
BUSINESS BRIEFS: The opening or re-location or major expansion of a business should include the address, the nature of the business, hours of operation, the names of the owner and/or manager, phone number and website. All other submissions will run at the editor’s discretion.
BUSINESS HONORS: Recipients of national, regional, state or local honors are eligible for inclusion in the Business Honors column. Internal company awards, company/client relationship awards, sales performance, safety milestone, trade or industry publication awards and directory-style awards are not eligible.
BUSINESS MEETINGS: These are non-commercial events and typically include regularly scheduled meetings of local professional organizations and business-related government agency events.
