Crown Crafts Inc., a Gonzales-based infant wear and accessories maker, has agreed to pay $850,000 to BreathableBaby LLC to settle a patent infringement lawsuit filed in January 2012.

Minneapolis-based BreathableBaby’s patent covered certain innovations concerning mesh crib liners.

E. Randall Chestnut, Crown’s chairman, president and chief executive officer, said a one-time charge was recorded in the second quarter of Crown’s 2015 fiscal year, which ended Sept. 28, that will impact full-year net income on an after-tax basis by about $530,000, or 5 cents per share.

“We are pleased that we were able to reach an amicable agreement, and now we can devote our full attention to operating our business,” Chestnut said.
