BATON ROUGE AREA

Theresa Lockwood was presented with the 2014 Outstanding HR Professional of the Year Award by the Greater Baton Rouge Society for Human Resource Management.

Lockwood is the director of human resources at Baton Rouge Physical Therapy Lake. The award recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the HR profession and the local Baton Rouge community. Over the past 15 years, Lockwood has served as a chapter member, board member and the 2010 chapter president.

The Council for A Better Louisiana has created the H. Norman Saurage III Leadership Louisiana Scholarship for Education Leaders honoring H. Norman Saurage III, former president and former chairman of Community Coffee Co. LLC upon his retirement from the CABL board of directors. CABL cited Saurage’s decades of service in many capacities with the organization and his passion for civic engagement and improving public education through the Community Cash for Schools program.

AROUND SOUTH LOUISIANA

The Society of Louisiana Certified Public Accountants presented Albert J. “Joey” Richard III and Gerard “Jerry” Schreiber with its Lifetime Membership Award; Joy Irwin with its Outstanding Discussion Leader Award; and Kendall Johnson with its Outstanding CPA in Business and Industry Award.

Richard, a director in Baton Rouge-based Postlethwaite & Netterville’s accounting and assurance services group, and Schreiber, a partner in the Metairie CPA firm Schreiber & Schreiber, were recognized for their long-term record of achievement to benefit the future of CPAs throughout Louisiana Irwin, director of local government services and assistant legislative auditor in Baton Rouge, received the Discussion Leader Award based on number of hours taught, evaluations of participants and overall quality of courses. Irwin is a speaker in the area of governmental accounting and auditing.

Johnson, vice president and chief financial officer for Baton Rouge General and General Health Systems, was recognized for his contributions to the business success of his employer and the CPA profession through involvement with LCPA.
