A new seafood restaurant that will specialize in lobster rolls, soups and seafood tacos is set to open in January in Acadian-Perkins Plaza.

La Salle’s Crawfish and Lobster Roll will sell the sandwiches, which consist of a mayonnaise-based lobster salad served on a soft bun. The restaurant also will sell crawfish and shrimp rolls, along with seafood salads, lobster bisque and crawfish bisque, said Jeff Simoneaux, who is opening La Salle’s along with Leo Scott. The restaurant will be located next to The Salad Shop.

“We’re getting lobsters shipped in from Maine,” Simoneaux said.

Along with the seafood sandwiches, salads and soups, La Salle’s will offer sides such as dirty rice, potato salad and macaroni and cheese, along with desserts. The restaurant plans to sell Tin Roof and Abita beers.

La Salle’s plans to be open seven days a week, for lunch and dinner. If all goes well, Simoneaux hopes to open a location in the French Quarter in 2019.

Plans are to hire 10 to 12 full- and part-time employees.

Jon Claitor, who owns the shopping center at the corner of Perkins Road and Acadian Thruway, said two other tenants should be moving into the property soon: Vanilla Sweet Bakery and Article & Thread, a women’s clothing boutique.
