AT&T said U-Verse TV, phone and Internet service has been restored for most of its customers after an outage of just over three days and that it will provide credits to those affected.
“We’re handling any lingering issues directly with customers,” said Sue Sperry, an AT&T spokeswoman based in Metairie.
Sperry said the outage affected less than 1 percent of the 7.4 million U-verse subscribers. Customers in Baton Rouge and metro New Orleans were among those who had problems with the service.
AT&T blamed the problem on a software upgrade. There were reports of service disruptions stretching from Florida to Oklahoma.
