Only the Baton Rouge and Monroe metro regions showed job losses in June.

Baton Rouge was down 2,400 jobs from the same period last year and Monroe posted a loss of 100 jobs from June 2010, according to new figures released by the Louisiana Workforce Commission on Wednesday.

The state’s other six metro areas all showed job increases in June, with New Orleans and Alexandria - the state’s smallest metro area - leading the pack.

New Orleans and Alexandria each picked up 2,900 jobs in June compared to a year ago, according to the labor report.
