The Belle Aire Plaza shopping center on Florida Boulevard has been sold for $1.5 million.
TSAI Property LLC, a Baton Rouge based group, purchased the center at Florida and S. Tamari Drive in a deal that was filed last week. The sellers were Sharon Calloway Bettis and Glenda Calloway, both of Baton Rouge.
Michelle Ruston, a broker with Ruston Properties, which will manage the center, said the 120,000-square-foot shopping center has been largely vacant for a while.
The new owners plan on “a large-scale” reconstruction and rehabilitation of the shopping center, Ruston said.
The plan is to make the center a “one-stop shop” for people living in the community around Belle Aire Plaza, with a family doctor, dentist’s office, restaurants, grocery store and nail salon, Ruston said. Several shopping centers along Florida Boulevard have rebranded themselves in similar ways to meet the needs of Vietnamese residents in Baton Rouge.
Minh Tran of Ruston Properties brokered the sale of Belle Aire Plaza.
