A Florida company has purchased the three Dunkin’ Donuts restaurants in Baton Rouge and plans to open two more locations of the popular eatery by 2017.

Panama City Donut Network LLC, based in Clearwater, Florida, bought the Dunkin’ Donuts locations at 9837 Bluebonnet Blvd., 8121 Florida Blvd. and 2698 S. Sherwood Forest Blvd. for an undisclosed sum. Panama City Donut Network operates 29 Dunkin’ Donuts in Florida and Alabama.

“We are excited to expand the brand’s presence in Louisiana and play an important role in the daily lives of people who live, work and visit here,” said Vik Patel, head of Panama City Donut Network, who has been a Dunkin’ Donuts franchisee for nine years.

Patel said he plans to open his first Baton Rouge Dunkin’ Donuts by fall 2016 and a second restaurant in 2017. Dunkin’ Donuts did not disclose potential locations for the new restaurants.

Dunkin’ Donuts is looking to expand the chain across Louisiana. The company said franchise opportunities are available in New Orleans, Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Alexandria, Lake Charles and Monroe.

Dunkin’ Donuts has more than 11,400 locations worldwide, serving doughnuts and other breakfast pastries, coffee, smoothies and sandwiches.
