A 3.2-acre tract of undeveloped land on Plank Road has been sold to a Houston company that plans to build a Family Dollar store on the site.

3D Plank Road LLC paid $400,000 for the land at 5566 Plank, said Benjamin Graham of SVN/Graham, Langlois & Legendre Commercial Real Estate. Graham represented the buyer and the sellers, Saleem and Aicha Dabit. 3D Plank Road is a regional developer for Family Dollar.

Work on the 10,000-square-foot discount store is expected to begin in the next two months. It should take about eight to 10 months to build the Family Dollar.

Family Dollar has more than 8,200 stores in 46 states, including 37 in metro Baton Rouge.
