A former beer distribution warehouse on Airline Highway has been sold for $4.2 million to a local chemical packaging/material-handling service.

Brown Eagle Warehouse purchased the property at 7808 Airline Highway in a deal that was filed with the East Baton Rouge Clerk of Court’s Office Tuesday. The seller was Crescent Crown Distributing LLC.

The 100,659-square-foot warehouse sits on a nearly 5-acre site near Airline and S. Choctaw Drive.

Leon Audibert, an agent/broker with Property One Inc. who had the listing for the warehouse, said Crescent Crown acquired the warehouse when it bought out the Baton Rouge Beer Agency. Crescent Crown has a distribution center on Tom Drive that it opened in 2015, so it moved the inventory out of the building and put the property on the market. “They didn’t have a need for the building,” Audibert said.

Brown Eagle works with local chemical companies to handle, package, warehouse and ship products. The company was founded in 1968. H. Ben Johnson, of NAI/Latter & Blum, represented the buyers.
