Construction is set to start next week on Garden View of Baton Rouge, a 73-unit assisted-living facility that will be built at 3130 Jones Creek Road.

The $15 million facility is expected to open in summer 2015, said Randy Crochet, one of the investors building Garden View. The center will contain one- and two-bedroom units for seniors and 24 memory care units.

Garden View facilities have opened in Lafayette and New Iberia, Crochet said. “We’re carrying the franchise name to Baton Rouge,” he said. The section under construction is planned to be the first phase of a larger development at the Jones Creek site. “We hope to add more memory care and independent-living units,” he said.

Garden View is expected to create 40 to 50 construction jobs and more than 50 permanent jobs once the facility opens. “We want it to be a nice destination,” Crochet said.
