Tim Barfield, former revenue secretary for Gov. Bobby Jindal and a former Shaw Group executive, has joined Baton Rouge design and management firm CSRS Inc. as executive vice president.
CSRS specializes in delivering infrastructure and facilities to public and private entities across the Southeast.
CSRS President and CEO Michael Songy said scarcity of public funding requires a strategic approach that ensures timely and cost-effective implementation of projects — from federal funds or grants and conventional bond programs to public-private partnerships and private equity financing.
Songy said CSRS will tap Barfield’s “extensive infrastructure planning and funding expertise.”
Barfield previously served as president and chief operating officer for The Shaw Group Inc., an engineering, technology, construction, fabrication, environmental and industrial services company that is now part of CB&I.
He most recently served as secretary of the Louisiana Department of Revenue, had served as Jindal’s executive counsel and been executive director of the Louisiana Workforce Commission. He briefly left the Jindal administration for a job as chief development officer for Baton Rouge-based home health and hospice care company Amedisys.
“After several extremely fulfilling years serving the citizens of Louisiana, I look forward to returning to the private sector and my infrastructure background, working with the talented team at CSRS to expand the firm’s suite of services,” Barfield said.
