Joe Gardner, a sales and leasing executive in the New Orleans office of Stirling Properties, has earned the Certified Commercial Investment Member designation from the CCIM Institute.
The designation is based on experience and completing a graduate-level curriculum that addresses financial analysis, market analysis, user decision analysis, and investment analysis commercial investment real estate.
BATON ROUGE AREA
Kostmayer Construction LLC received a national Associated Builders and Contractors Pyramid Award for its work on the L’Auberge Casino & Hotel foundation construction project in Baton Rouge.
The award was in the category of other specialty commercial construction of more than $10 million category in the ABC’s Excellence in Construction Awards.
The Louisiana Travel Promotion Association and its publishing partner Miles received a Gold Adrian Award from the Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International for their special “Taste Louisiana” advertising section in the 2014 Official Louisiana Inspiration Guide.
The guide directs visitors to destinations throughout the state with magazine-style depictions of Louisiana’s food, music and culture.
The Louisiana chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization announced the 2014 graduates of its Accelerator Program.

The Louisiana Restaurant Association Education Foundation announced the winners of its 14th Annual Louisiana Seafood ProStart Student Invitational.
Students from 20 high schools across Louisiana participated in the culinary competition and management competition.
During the culinary competition, teams demonstrated their knife skills, poultry fabrication and creative abilities through the preparation of a three-course, gourmet meal in 60 minutes. All teams’ menus had to feature at least one type of the six Louisiana seafood species.
The winner of the culinary competition, for the second consecutive year, was Lakeshore High School in Mandeville, led by instructor Judy Achary and students Irelan Crosby, Autumn Hamm, Hunter Trahan and Gianna Nastas. Second place was West Feliciana High School in St. Francisville, led by instructor Amy Dreher and students Kevonte Davis, Jonathan Tate, Sarah Alford, Jonah Fowler and Jordan Bringedahl. Third place was Dutchtown High School in Geismar, led by instructor Traci Martin and students Haley Stone, Cameron Gautreau, Mitchell Bailey, Joube Ryan and Monique Theriot.
Teams participating in the management competition demonstrated their knowledge of the restaurant and foodservice industry by developing a restaurant concept, including the menu, design, budget and marketing strategies.
The winner of the management competition was West Feliciana High School in St. Francisville, led by instructor Amy Dreher and students Lexi Auxt, Jacob Manieri, Dalton Clevenger and Brandon Oliveaux. Second place was Lakeshore High School in Mandeville, led by instructor Judy Achary and students Alex Gautreaux, Jacob Heffner, Gianna Nastas, Tracie Romano and Cole Krieger. Third place was Hammond High Magnet School, led by instructor Angie Drago and students Todreion Amos, Savannah Hall and Terenisha Porter.
In the culinary competition, the knife skills award went to Dutchtown High School; safety and sanitation award to Grace King High School; judges’ appetizer pick to West Feliciana High School; judges’ entrée pick to St. James Parish Career & Technology Center; and judges’ dessert pick to Lakeshore High School.
In the management competition, the judges’ restaurant concept award went to West Feliciana High School; judges’ critical thinking award to West Feliciana High School; judges’ visual display award to Hammond High Magnet School; and judges’ verbal presentation award to North Vermilion High School.
