The Wal-Mart Supercenter in the Siegen Lane Marketplace will undergo an extensive remodeling beginning next month.
The work on the store at 10606 North Mall Drive should be completed by August, said Youseff Sayaf, store manager.
Sayaf said the remodeling will involve updating the interior layout and design, installing new flooring and improving the produce department. The store will remain open while the work is going on.
Plans submitted last week to the city-parish Department of Public Works Inspection Division put the value of the work at nearly $1.3 million.
Rachael Stanton, a Wal-Mart spokeswoman, said the Siegen Marketplace store was built with a different layout than other Supercenters in the area. The remodeling will put it in line with the other stores, she said.
