Former city councilwoman and state representative Jacquelyn “Jackie” Brechtel Clarkson has been named Honorary Consul of the Republic of Lithuania for the state of Louisiana as a member of the 59-member Louisiana Consular Corps.

As honorary consul, Clarkson’s responsibilities include encouraging trade, commerce and tourism between Louisiana and the Baltic nation of 3 million people. Clarkson’s grandmother emigrated from Lithuania and lived in the French Quarter.

Tom Sampson and Donna Saurage have been named to the board of directors of Community Coffee Co.

Sampson is president and chief executive officer of Peacock Engineering Co.

Saurage is manager of CCC Holding, the parent of Community Coffee Co.

C.D. Schempf Jr., senior vice president of sales and marketing, has been named president of Tesla Offshore LLC in Prairieville, a division of Tesla Exploration Ltd.

Schempf succeeds Randall P. Bergeron, who retired as president and chief executive officer and will serve as executive director of Tesla Offshore LLC.

Co-founder Donald W. Spicer will continue in his role as senior vice president and general manager of the company.

Ral ph Ney, general manager of Embassy Suites, has been elected president of the Baton Rouge Lodging Association.

LAFAYETTE AREA

Daniel Astleford has been named assistant chief operating officer for the Regional Health System of Acadiana with administrative responsibility for both Women’s & Children’s Hospital and the Regional Medical Center of Acadiana.

He also is part of the system leadership team responsible for strategic planning and shaping policy and procedures.

He was vice president of operations for Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington, Missouri.

Gary Luquette, a member of the board, will succeed D. Keith Mosing as president and chief executive officer of Frank’s International N.V.

Mosing will serve as executive chairman of the board.

Luquette joined the company’s board in November 2013 and was president of Chevron North America Exploration and Production Co.

AROUND SOUTH LOUISIANA

Kean Miller LLP has elected as partners in the law firm William L. Caughman III and John C. Funderburk, who are in its Baton Rouge office, and Carrie R. Tournillon in its New Orleans office.

Caughman practices in the business and corporate, intellectual property and business litigation groups, with experience in litigation matters, as well as transactions involving mergers and acquisitions, and contracting advice. He also assists clients in intellectual property matters involving trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets and allegations of unfair competition.

Funderburk practices in the litigation and construction groups, representing individuals and corporations in complex environmental litigation, construction litigation, contract disputes, and oilfield contamination litigation in state and federal courts.

Tournillon practices in the utilities regulation, oil and gas and pipeline groups, representing industrial manufacturing and refining companies before the Louisiana Public Service Commission and advises companies with respect to electrical generation projects to ensure their compliance with federal and state energy regulatory law.
