A national resurfacing company is looking to break into the south Louisiana market.
Miracle Method, which resurfaces bathtubs, tiles and countertops, hopes to open its first Louisiana location in Shreveport in the next three to four months. The franchise operator there has expressed opening a Baton Rouge location in the next couple of years, said John Tubiolo, vice president of franchise sales and development for Miracle Method.
“Louisiana has been a tough market for us,” Tubiolo said.
Miracle Method has more than 130 franchisees across the U.S. and Canada. The company has created a bonding agent that it says forms a seamless, poreless layer of protection for surfaces.
It costs about $500 to refinish the average bathtub and about $800 to resurface a shower. After the work is done, Tubiolo said, the surface will last for 15 to 25 years and can be cleaned with mild soap and water.
Although Miracle Method isn’t in Louisiana yet, crews from out of state have done work at LSU, refurbishing bathrooms in some dormitories.
Eventually, Tubiolo said he would like to see two Miracle Method franchisees in New Orleans, along with locations in Baton Rouge, Lafayette, Alexandria and Shreveport. “That would give us a full range of coverage in the state,” he said.
