Raising Cane’s, the Baton Rouge-based chicken tender chain, has opened its first California location in suburban Los Angeles.

More than 100 people waited in line for the opening of the Costa Mesa restaurant on Wednesday. Former LSU basketball star Glen “Big Baby” Davis, who recently played for the NBA’s Los Angeles Clippers, took a turn working the drive-through window.

Cane’s now has 242 locations in the U.S. and Kuwait. California is the 20th state to get a Cane’s, following the August opening of a Fayetteville, Arkansas, restaurant.
